Duties:
Maintains all tools and parts in the crib in an orderly and secure manner to ensure stock accessibility in a busy production environment sustaining plant 5S standards.
Completes purchase requisitions for operational (Trans4M system) and repair/maintenance work (Sprocket) using the applicable management system.
Requests and maintains files of competitive bids on standard stocked items, new tooling, services and the majority of crib items. Updates supplier quotes annually at a minimum.
Ensures that stock levels of tooling, maintenance, and stocked crib items are monitored, maintained and distributed in a controlled manner as per the work instructions.
Receives, unpacks incoming materials and stocks in appropriate, labelled locations; requisitions stock to replenish inventory in a timely manner.
Notifies and/or distributes material to the appropriate employee manually or using a hand truck
Prepare and issue approvals and purchase orders.
Follows up on orders to ensure timely deliveries
Records material activity as it is deposited or withdrawn from the tool crib; verifies logging in and out of tooling and locates lost or misplaced items.
Responsible for monitoring stock, issue requisitions, getting management approval and ordering the required materials
Maintain up to date supplier data is in the system
Maintain purchasing data and provide updates for parts and services as required. Track all parts out for repair
Receive goods and services in the system and provide paperwork and correct information to accounts payable. Process returns as required.
Prepare periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computer.
Participate in weekly inventory audits as well as annual physical inventories
All other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
Three years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing plant
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Previous experience with a multiple management systems (Trans4M and Sprocket)
Purchasing experience is desired
Demonstrates self-motivation, strong work ethic and a desire to learn
Ability to work in a fast pace environment and possess excellent multitasking skills while maintaining high quality work.
Effective communication skills
Ability to read and write basic English
Mathematical Skills
Education - High school or equivalent
