What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Director position at Mahomet Area Youth Club?
The Program Director leads the planning and organization of MAYC programs. The Program Director has primary responsibility to develop and manage summer, winter and spring break programs for youth ages 1-9 as well the after-school program at the Junior High and our new after-school program beginning fall 2024. The Program Director carries out all program initiatives under the direction of the Executive Director.
Job Specifications:
Education: Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in human services, education, social work or other relevant field from an accredited college or university with requisite experience.
Experience: Experience in youth programming and/or related field with responsibilities in program development, staff recruitment and supervision, and program evaluation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated skills to coordinate staff, communicate with parents and guardians, work with partnering organizations, and facilitate training. The Program Director must also be able to build strong and meaningful relationships with youth and families.
The Program Director devotes their time to the following critical activities: program development and implementation, community outreach, communication with youth, families and community partners, supervision, staff recruitment and training. The Program Director must possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and model positive behavior for staff and youth.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
