Full Job Description
AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel) provide services to individuals for the Wayne and Lavalette areas. Must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and reliable transportation with insurance. Successful completion of a WV CARES criminal background check required.
- Successfully complete the Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP) curriculum with the required passing score (company provided training).
- Administer physician ordered medications and treatments within the scope of permissible AMAP responsibilities.
- Complete required observations with the AMAP Registered Nurse to maintain certification.
- Consult with AMAP Registered Nurse concerning PRN medications, medication stock, and all other matters requiring RN consultation as defined by the AMAP program.
- Travel to assigned locations to administer medications per physician’s orders. Travel to and from core office location as needed.
- Monitoring of MARs and medication storage.
· Document all services provided
· Ensure physician orders are current, properly documented and communicated to direct care staff and others.
· Monitoring of client medical equipment for safety and proper functioning.
- Notifying the office of any needs the individual has and report any needed medical supplies / equipment
- Other duties as assigned
