Product Development and Design Associate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and creatively driven Product Development & Design Associate to join our fashion team. This role supports the end-to-end development process of seasonal collections, working closely with design, production, merchandising, and sourcing teams to bring innovative and brand-right products to market on time and within budget. Experience in sleepwear/ intimates/ mens and/or childrens is a plus!

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development:

• Assist in the creation and execution of seasonal product lines from concept to production.
• Track sample development and approvals (e.g., lab dips, fit samples, TOPs).
• Manage communication with vendors, mills, and factories regarding prototypes, samples, and materials.
• Support the product development calendar, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
• Maintain accurate product data in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.

Design Support:

• Create and update tech packs and design specification sheets.
• Support sketching (hand or CAD) and preparation of presentation materials.
• Collaborate with designers & Design Director to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the development process.
• Contribute to mood boards, color palettes, fabric selections, and trims.
• Assist in fittings and record fit comments and updates as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with sourcing and production teams to ensure product feasibility and cost targets.
• Coordinate with merchandising and sales teams on product briefs, line reviews, and market samples.
• Communicate status updates across departments regularly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in fashion design or product development (internships included).
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrications, and production timelines.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator), Excel, and PLM systems.
• Excellent organization and communication skills; detail-oriented and proactive.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Passion for fashion, trend awareness, and a collaborative attitude.

Bonus Skills (Not Required but Preferred):

• Experience working with overseas vendors and factories.
• Technical design knowledge or patternmaking basics.
• Familiarity with sustainability or circular design principles.

Salary Disclosure:

Majesty Brands is committed to offering a compensation package that reflects the qualifications and experience of the individual. The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. While the posted salary range is $65,000 – $80,000, we recognize the value of exceptional talent and are open to negotiation for the right candidate.
