The Project Cost Manager is responsible for cost and estimating functions, including budget control and change management. They are focused on project cash flow and cost analysis to ensure accurate and timely project funding.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another business/related field. At least 5 years of experience in a large public accounting firm or a sophisticated corporate environment. Six or more years of related experience implementing project control methodologies on large-scale construction projects.
Demonstrated and extensive knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel. Experience with Google Suite preferred.
Job costing/construction accounting experience preferred. Manufacturing industry experience preferred. Must be well-organized and detail-oriented, with demonstrable skills and knowledge in planning and implementing project control methodologies and cost forecasting on large-scale construction projects. Have a firm understanding of how to interpret engineering and construction contracts and implement methods by which to monitor and control the contracts. Must be able to understand and analyze project schedules to forecast project costs.
Communication skills are essential for this position. Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with upper management and project team members. Must excel in a deadline-oriented environment and demonstrate high competence in organizing and prioritizing multiple work assignments-the ability to deal effectively with diverse individuals at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to work independently within interpretive guidelines, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment; excellent responsive customer service focus; high level of skills in handling sensitive and confidential situations/information with the demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
