What we are looking for:
M-B is currently hiring a Sr. CAD Operator to be based out of our office in Buford, Georgia. The candidate who fills this position will lead the CAD effort utilizing MicroStation CAD/ProjectWise/OpenRoads software and AGI software to prepare 2D and 3D construction drawings from redline sketches, 2D/3D layouts, existing drawings and electronic images. Drawing details include all views and dimensions necessary for clear and accurate presentation. You will apply knowledge of design practices and interact with Engineers to solve design issues. The person in this position will also be assigned as a CAD Lead on projects and provide CAD support on others when necessary.
How you’ll make an impact as a Sr. CAD Operator:
· Defining, implementing and maintaining CAD standards for the company
· Ensuring that Junior CAD Technicians are trained and follow established CAD standards
· Coordinate weekly CAD needs with Project Managers / CAD Staff
· Manage CAD software licenses and updates as well as CAD training
· General QA/QC of CAD work performed by CAD Staff
· Along with the internal procedures and standardizations, there is an obligation to have extensive knowledge of industry information, incorporate existing technologies such as collaboration tools, remote access tools, etc., stay on top of file translation methods between CAD platforms and client systems, stay current with industry standards, maintain timely review of industry periodicals, CAD expos, seminars, and trade shows
· Set up and manage Microstation workspace for projects
· Work with other CAD Staff on redline drafting
· Efficient and accurate drafting with adherence to CAD standards
· Coordinate drawing files and electronic transmittals with Clients
· Electronic Project File Management
· Project Design (within skill set and direction of Project Manager or Project Engineer)
· Personal Continuing Education
Requirements
What it takes to be successful as a Sr. CAD Operator:
· Associate Degree in Technical Drafting (Preferred)
· Minimum 10 years’ experience in field
· Minimum 10 years’ experience working with MicroStation CAD/project file management software
· Minimum 5 years’ managing Junior CAD Technicians
· Extensive experience and competence on design software such as Geopak and/or OpenRoads
· Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
· Some knowledge of general engineering practices and methods
