Machine Operator
Hours: Monday – Friday and Saturdays during peak seasons

Summary: Under the general direction of the Production Supervisor, responsible for setting up and operating equipment. Is responsible for maintaining product quality standards as set by the QA department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned due to business needs or special circumstances, which may require reassignment to other departments or other job duties.
- Ensure that all machine settings are at proper standards to achieve quality and thru put standards.
- Record all ingredient lot numbers for track and recall purposes.
- Account for all line downtime and inform Supervisor as needed.
- Regulate weight & waste and record
- Account for scrape and defects from the line.
- Inform management and maintenance of issues on conveyors, rollers, belts and other equipment.
- Complete rapid changeovers of equipment and production lines to meet sanitation standards.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations (No supplies, gloves, hairnets, beard nets, or tools should be left on top of the equipment at any given time)
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Know and follow GMP guidelines
- Ensure all SOPs are followed
- Work any and all overtime as required for start up and shut down. Peak season overtime is required.
- Follow all company safety and food safety SOP’s.
- Overtime hours may be required based on work demand. Employee must be flexible with these hours.
- Train New Machine Operators as needed. Machine set up for each recipe.
- Equipment could include baggers, wrappers, x-ray, panning, and conveyors.
- Thorough understanding of the Machines(s) Operation from start to finish. This would include recipe settings, paperwork, and adjustments to meet the end product.
- Understand the cause and effect of the equipment in relationships to the end product.
- Diagnose problems with the machine and provide corrective actions.
- Communicate schedule and recipe changes as needed.
- Have a positive attitude and ability to work with others
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
- Perform basic visual quality inspections on products.
- Maintaining the production pace of the production line.
- Detailed orientated.
- Team work is a must for this position.
- Must follow all safety rules and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
- Must be able to operate pallet jack and electric walk behind pallet jacks.
Physical Demands:
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in warmer/hot environment 80-90 degrees
- Must be able to work in cooler environments 60-70 degrees
- Ability to perform the following physical activities: walking, talking, hearing, and perform repetitive motions.
- Continuous tasks include: Standing, walking and frequent bending, reaching/handling from the conveyor line to floor or into a box. Weight handled: approximately 10-30 lbs. continuously; 30-50 lbs. frequently; > 50 occasionally.
