Aviation Program Manager
We are looking for an Aerospace Program Manager to join our growing team in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area as part of our aircraft freighter conversion business.
The ideal candidate has a background in Engineering, Airline or MRO operations, and experience with leading complex projects that involve teams of multiple disciplines and companies. A can-do mindset, sharp business mind, and proven ability to strategize and bring teams together to implement high-level program initiatives is critical. Duties will include developing and managing schedules with customers and suppliers while internally developing and managing program and project budgets, developing strategy and goals for company projects, as well as identifying improvement opportunities and driving their implementation. The individual needs a strong sense of accountability and skills in project management, leadership, teamwork, and delegation. Experience with airplane modification projects is a big plus.
Job Responsibilities
• Help strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives
• Manage customer contracts and relationships
• Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement
• Oversee multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached
• Work with the MROs and their perspective planning departments during the conversion phase to ensure milestones are on schedule
• Manage budget and funding channels for maximum productivity
• Work closely with integrated product teams (IPT) and assigned leads to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
• Manage project teams for optimal return-on-investment and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives
• Identify key requirements needed from IPT and external vendors
• Develop and manage budget for sub-projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives
• Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks and produce program reports for management and stakeholders
Job Skills
• Must be highly proficient in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and preferably PowerBI
• Must be a self-starter requiring minimum supervision and perform with a high degree of dependability and accuracy in the execution of job assignments
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must have good organizational skills, be able to prioritize work, accurately perform duties with constant activity in the area, and pay close attention to detail
• Must work well with teams and as team leader
• Must have the ability to schedule and manage tasks effectively
• Must have outstanding planning, resource, and stakeholder management skills
• Must have cost control and budgeting skills
Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree required in Industrial, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 15 years of experience in aerospace as project manager or manager
• Aircraft conversion or modification experience strongly preferred
