What are the responsibilities and job description for the Programs Clerk position at Management & Training Corporation?
Reports to the Programs Director. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), and Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) directives.
Essential Functions:
- Type correspondence, reports and letters.
- Proofread material to verify accuracy.
- Maintain records and files.
- Maintain appropriate office supplies for the department.
- Operate office equipment including computers.
- Log and distribute incoming mail, prepare, outgoing mail, answer telephone and convey messages.
- Operate telephone communications and mail handling as assigned.
- Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
- Maintain accountability of inmates/detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year experience required. One (1) year clerical or related experience including word processing and computer date entry preferred. Valid drivers' license in the state of Mississippi or Louisiana with an acceptable driving record required.
