The Employee Relations Specialist helps with the administration of employee relations and related programs, including but not limited to, disciplinary procedures, investigations, employee records, unemployment compensation, and public record requests. The Employee Relations Specialist will assist the Employee Relations Manager on investigating and resolving employee complaints and policy violations. This position will also assist in reviewing and approving disciplinary actions, policies, and procedures, and work with managers and supervisors on disciplinary issues.

What You Will Do 
  • You will assist with employee relations and related programs.
  • Provide advice and counseling to employees and management on employee relations and policy matters.
  • Assist with approving and reviewing disciplinary actions, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with conducting employee investigations.
  • Help with investigating and resolving employee complaints and policy violations, as assigned.
  • Works with County Administration Records Division to evaluate and fulfill Public Record Requests
 Who You Are 
  • Passionate in employee relations and assisting with resolving employee conflict.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet details. Excellent attention to detail and organized. 
  • Ability to analyze and resolve difficult situations and problems.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job duties, including, but not limited to EEOC, FLSA, unemployment, and records retention.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact professionally and effectively with staff, management, and other stakeholders. Able to explain facts, policies, and practices.
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 3 or more years of experience in human resources.  Previous experience in employee/labor relations desired.
  • Valid driver license required, with valid Florida driver license required within 30 days of hire.

Salary : $54,700 - $82,000
