Founded in 1981 by Dr. Tim Sorrells, Manchester Veterinary Services is a long-standing and reputable companion animal practice in Manchester, Maryland. The practice recently completed a 10-year equipment and facility improvement process, and in September 2020 we opened a brand new location three minutes north of the former clinic's site. With this new expansion and updated equipment, the practice is able to offer a broader range of services to its clients. Along with routine veterinary work, MVS offers x-ray, dental, ultrasound, surgery, and therapy laser services, among others. Our fun, tight-knit team has strong clinical skills in the areas of wellness and dentistry and are excited to welcome new veterinarians seeking mentorship.
- Patient Care
- Surgery: Intake, Pre-Op, Induction, Monitoring, Post-op, Discharge
- ICU
- Initiating, monitoring, and documenting: Patient treatments; Fluid Therapy; PO, IV, IM, and SQ injections; Calculate drug and fluid doses. Diagnostics: Collecting patient samples; Preparing samples for reference laboratory; Operating Idexx VetLab station and other in house laboratory equipmen; Assist with ultrasounds; Obtain quality radiograph images
- Appointments:
- Technician Appointments: Nail trims, Anal Gland Expressions, Medical Skin treatments, Vaccines, and other medical treatments
- Veterinarian Appointment Set-ups and Assistance.
- Obtain and document: SOAP Hx, Vitals, Laboratory samples, Treatment Care Plan. Write and Review Patient Discharges Schedule Follow up care. Assist veterinarian with exams and treatments. Perform diagnostics and treatments ordered by veterinarian
- Pharmacy: Review and fill prescriptions in house. Review and understand instructions. Confirm filled prescriptions for accuracy.
- Client Education and staff training.
- Other duties as assigned
- Scrub Allowance: Eligible on 1st day
- Paid Time Off: 40 hours first year (accrued)
- Paid Holidays: 6 Paid Holidays (Eligible on 1st day)
