SUMMARY

The Quality Technician inspects and reports on the quality of manufactured and supplied parts or assemblies for the Automotive Industry per IATF standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

o Perform detail inspection plans, in-process inspections and final inspections on precision machined components and some assemblies documenting findings in the proper format and place.

o Interface with Engineering, Production and Materials to troubleshoot issues.

o Create and analyze quality reports and recommend courses of action regarding nonconforming materials.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Minimun of 5 years’ experience in a regulated IATF 16949/ISO9001 manufacturing environment.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

· Requires minimal supervision

· Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and leadership skills

· Good written and verbal communication skills

· Experience with Microsoft Access, Excel and Word

· Proficient with geometry and trigonometry (machine shop math)

· Willingness to work overtime as needed, typical 50 hour work week

· Certified Quality Inspector Preferred

· Understanding of GD&T systems and processes

· Understanding of advanced inspection methods and statistical techniques. (SPC)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply reasoning to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee must be able to assemble, disassemble, and move parts on and off machines and equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
