Job Title: Education Data Specialist
Job Brief:
- We are seeking a skilled and motivated Education Data Specialist to assist with the reporting and management of student data as part of the district's Technology Department. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, has good communication skills, that can understand and visual data. The role provides important data for our state and federal reporting requirements as well as supporting district learning initiatives. This position serves as an essential role to the classroom through the creation of student as well as staff accounts on various technology platforms.
Location: Lincoln Education Center
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and some higher education or technical school course work and/or experience with computer software, hardware, maintenance and training of users.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel. (including using formulas, creating Pivot tables and graphs)
- Ability to convert data and re-format data into different formats.
- Understanding programming operators and using logical expressions.
- Ability to work with confidential information.
- All USD383 employees must pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Creation of SQL queries.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL tools (Integration Services, Reporting Services, Server Agent Jobs).
- Experience with Microsoft PowerBI and PowerBI Report Builder.
- Ability to create Microsoft PowerShell scripts.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
Salary:
- $20 - $22.00/hr.
- Placement within this range is based on relevant qualifications, including prior experience, education, and applicable certifications (e.g., bachelor's degree, advanced certification, bilingual proficiency, etc.).
Hours Per Day:
- 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Average workday = 8.0 hours.
Terms of Employment:
- 12-months position.
- New employees go through a 45-day introductory period as part of onboarding after which benefits will begin, and leave can be used.
Reports To: Director of Technology
- Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create reports and extracts from the Student Information System (SIS) for grants and other data requests.
- Merge data from multiple spreadsheets in Excel to create customized reports.
- Create and assist other users in creating ad-hoc filters in the Student Information System.
- Collaborate with administrators to create various district reports.
- Run SQL queries and be able to adjust the report parameters.
- Generate and submit various state and federal reports and perform basic troubleshooting to resolve data errors.
- Import assessment and other CSV data into multiple systems.
- Management the creation of student accounts in various platforms. Review daily imports and exports for errors. Perform basic troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Manage connections between SIS and third-party vendors. Perform data sync between multiple platforms.
- Assist with management and support of the SIS and responding to help desk tickets.
- Assign licenses to students or courses in various platforms.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
