Job Title: Overlook Activities Center Skate Staff

Work Environment: Weekends and weeknights. Work environment is indoors and is often dimly lit with flashing lights and loud music.

Summary

Skate staff will be asked to help in two separate roles: Skate Room Attendee or Floor Guard.

Staff are rotated based on needs of facility management. Skate room attendees will work in the skate

room providing skates for patrons. Down time should be spent cleaning and fixing skates as able.

Floor guards are required to skate during the session enforcing rules on the rink floor. Floor guards will

also host any skate session games.

Essential functions

• Knowledge of skating techniques and ability to skate for extended periods of time.
• Provide excellent customer service through consistent, fair and courteous enforcement of all rules.
• Overseeing and enforcing rink and attraction rules and safety regulations.
• Monitoring equipment and supplies.
• Maintaining work area and surrounding environment.
• Assists with keeping facility clean.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Related functions

• Communicate township/department policies, rules and regulations to all that use the facility.
• Thorough knowledge of quad skates, roller blades, roller derby, roller hockey, etc.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate physical fitness to include frequent light to occasional heavy lifting (up to 30 lbs.)
• Able to stand, roller skate and walk for extended periods of time and intermittently
• Ability to reach with arms and hands, push items overhead, pull, occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch

• Able to read
• Able to organize skates based on numbers

• Ability to demonstrate tact and patience when dealing with customers.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work habits to meet ever-changing schedule requirements.

Preferred Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
