Located at Children's Health Center - 1421 Premier Drive, Mankato
Full-time, 80 hours/pay period
Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm
The Health Information Services Specialist organizes and manages patient health information data to ensure quality, accuracy, accessibility and security in both paper and electronic formats. This position is responsible to accurately prepare, index, scan, and maintain patient charts according to chart order, maintain long term chart storage area, and to sort and distribute incoming, outgoing and interoffice mail. Must display ability to communicate effectively and work compatibly with others.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to perform computer functions in a team-oriented environment, but also able to work independently with moderate degree of supervision.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize work effectively, and adapt to changes in workload and responsibilities.
- Good eye-hand coordination.
- Must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Must demonstrate a professional attitude and maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced and stressful situations.
- Experience in scanning environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Advanced educational training.
Employment is contingent on successful completion of drug screen, health assessment, and background check.

All employees scheduled 60-80 hours per pay period are eligible for full benefits.
