Job Title: 2nd Shift Production & Sanitation Supervisor
Job Summary:
The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor is responsible for organizing and controlling daily production activities and operations to ensure that goods are produced safely, efficiently, on time all accordance with quality requirements - as well as, ensuring all grounds and plant are compliant with all sanitation regulations required for food plants per the CFR, and internal and third-party audit criteria. The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor will create and accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations to employees – by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; provide coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; as well as, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and standard operating procedures. This position takes over all in-process and planned production activities scheduled from the 1st Shift Supervisor and is responsible for concluding daily production processes as well as initiating all sanitation activities, keeping all records up to date and current.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manzana Food Products charges all employees with the responsibility to fully?participate in all company policy and program initiatives for Food Legality, Food Safety, Food Quality and Food Defense; each employee, no matter their position or job function serves a key role in contributing to safe, quality food.
- Implements production and sanitation plans to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality.
- Provide oversight for all production lines and processes to ensure that production targets and standards are met.
- Develop, implement and enforce SOP’s for existing production lines.
- Partner with Quality Manager to ensure production processes meet quality standards and requirements.
- Partner with Safety Officer to champion safety on the production floor and across operations.
- Maintain close surveillance over operations through review of reports, staff meetings, observation, and personal contact to ensure timely production, and optimal utilization of personnel, skills, equipment, and facilities.
- Supervise and coordinate the various programs essential to production, e.g., housekeeping, cost reduction, wage administration, plant security, etc.
- Ensure that Navision and RedZone are utilized effectively on the production floor.
- Maintains record of production employees’ attendance and approval of time request through Kronos.
- Ensure that the Plant and grounds are in compliance with all Sanitation regulations required for food plants per the CFR, and internal and third-party audit criteria.
- Using only Organic Approved chemicals to maintain our organic certification.
- Conducting Sanitation audits of the plant and ensuring that only materials listed in the MSDS master book are on site.
- Ensuring that all Sanitation Employees are trained in proper sanitation practices.
- Ensuring that proper documentation is prepared showing that Sanitation has been conducted in accordance with all required regulations.
- Oversee the supervision of Plant Operations, including Sanitation for 3rd shift.
- Report sanitation performance and provide objective feedback on opportunities for improvement and corrective actions.
- Provide technical assistance to ensure that all sanitation actions are completed correctly and on time.
- Ensure that all employees follow all company policies and procedures for the safe, quality, efficient and ethical operation of the plant.
- Conduct regular training of employees for relevant SOP’s and instructions and policies.
- Collect and verify all sanitation records, keeping current & up to date.
- Helps manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and conducting annual reviews for staff performance.
- Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
- Provides regular communication and status updates to appropriate staff.
- Escalates issues to, and communicates with Manager
Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
- Comply with GMP’s in the plant
- Conduct all monitoring activities to ensure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications.
- Participates in the review of the food safety system.
- Assist in the maintenance of Food Safety and Quality system.
