Route Supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

• Provides administrative and on-the-job training for all new route salespersons in all aspects of the job.
• Evaluates all existing route salespersons to determine if company policies and programs are being maintained.
• Sets example for route salespersons by their appearance, punctuality, leadership and attitude towards the company and customers.
• Maintains a high level of familiarity with all routes and customers.
• Stays informed of all programs, policies and product changes regarding routes and communications with staff.
• Fulfills departmental requirements in providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personal illness, vacation, or personal leave.
• Assist in other areas as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
• DOT Standard Regulations.
• Preferred 3-5 years route sales experience
• Must be available all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

May require lifting dairy products of 50lbs. max or 25 lbs. frequently. Frequently climbing up in and stepping down from truck /tractor trailer. Requires reaching and handling dairy products to customers, and office personnel; and listens to customers for daily orders and instructions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

May require delivery and selling of dairy products to customers, often in inclement weather, spending over 50% of working time outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is typically low. May work in an office setting some of time.
