Position Summary:
Utilizing creative methods, effectively promote the College to a variety of audiences encouraging appropriate prospective students to become successfully enrolled in the College. This includes advocating to prospective students, counseling and advising as well as obtaining and processing the materials required for admission. This position has direct impact on the College’s financial success.
Job Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks:
· Represent the College at various on and off campus recruitment events geared to attract potential students and conducted at high schools and colleges, and through community partners, within 150 miles of the College. Events include college fairs, high school visits as well as campus-based activities including instant admission days, open houses, Maria Day, etc.
· Coordinate, conduct and/or participate in, and contribute to the success of various student visit programs designed to recruit targeted applicant populations.
· Manage ongoing strategic communications with high school guidance counselors, school officials, community members, independent counselors, etc. and prospective students themselves to positively influence appropriate students to enroll with the college.
· Develop, plan and implement suitable follow-up techniques for inquires and applications through electronic communications, telephone and written formats. Remain up to date on current concepts of communication to connect with potential students through a variety of mediums as needed.
· Counsel and advise prospective students on admission criteria / program requirements / transfer policies / pathways of study and assist with financial aid processes and faculty advisement, often working directly with financial aid staff and College faculty.
· Utilize the College’s data bases to electronically track progress of College applicants.
· Evaluate applications and required documentation for acceptance and accept appropriate students for admission following standard practices and procedures.
· As necessary, answer incoming phone calls and emails providing answers to questions relating to admittance into the College.
· Provide supervision to work-study students performing clerical work for the department. Incumbent may be responsible to assign work, provide performance feedback and assist in selection.

Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one-year experience working in a professional capacity.
· Prior experience in education, customer service, college student counseling, or administration is preferred.
Skills
· Incumbent must have strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills as well as presentation and public speaking skills.
· Job holder must be highly organized, and detail focused with the ability to work in a fast-paced, environment that may involve working independently or collaboratively.
· Incumbent must maintain confidentiality of student records and be able to influence prospective students of diverse backgrounds in culturally responsive ways.
Technology Skills
Advanced competency in Windows operating environment using MS Office applications, e-mail and internet programs and have the aptitude to learn and efficiently utilize the College’s data base system(s).
