Job Description
Marine Travelift is excited to be adding a full-time Buyer to our Purchasing Department. As part of the leading boat handling equipment manufacturer, a buyer will be responsible for buying goods and services necessary for smooth and efficient business operations. As a buyer with Marine Travelift you will need strong communication skills with a keen eye for detail and the business acumen needed to properly evaluate market conditions and suppliers.
Job Responsibilities
- Quickly learn and understand the products/industries that have been assigned
- Determine best sources that will meet company objectives
- Negotiate most favorable agreements possible, preparing associated documents in the same manner
- Create and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality of goods, timely delivery, and overall compliance to contractual terms
- Create timely purchase orders, verify accuracy, and follow through to completion
- Ensure all assigned products are properly quoted, ordered, delivered and available for shipment
- Process product quotes and internal information requests
- Work with a variety of data sources related to supply chain operations
- All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
Job Qualifications
- 1-3 years proven experience in Purchasing or relevant role preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel is required
- Experience with ERP systems is desired
- Project management skills are a plus
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
