LEVEL/POSITION: WEB DESIGN PROGRAMMER ANALYST 2.08

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Web Design Programmer Analyst’s role is to design, develop, maintain, update, create, and project manage web technologies in support of business and customer processing requirements. Effectively assist in communicating web standards and procedures to the District Technology Office. Interpret and understand web services security as it affects the enterprise network. Isolate and solve web design related problems and determine the cause of problem and provide potential solutions. Multi- task several complex projects while being detail-oriented and organized. Solid analytical, problem-identification, and resolution skills. Provide capacity planning solutions related to web technologies. This employee reports to and is supervised by the assigned administrator.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Primary analyst in coding and developing websites using approved applications for marion.k12.fl.us web site and hosted domains.
• Conduct routine software audits of web services infrastructure (servers) for compliance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines.
• Responsible for security and intrusion prevention for all web services infrastructure devices.
• Take the lead in troubleshooting complex web design, coordinating the involvement of other MCPS Technologies, Technology and Information Systems

(TIS) staff members, vendors and departments as necessary.

• Perform system capacity planning by monitoring system performance, hard drive capacity and usage, as well as system configuration for all web services infrastructure devices.
• Consult with technical and non-technical staff in gathering requirements for design and implementation of applications integrating with web services infrastructure.

Website Creation, Maintenance, and Enhancement

• In-depth knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Web

Services, Web Portals, SQL, HTML, ASP, .NET and JavaScript.

• Create and maintain rich internet applications.

• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
• HTML and CSS skillset.
• Proficient knowledge of video integration and multimedia applications.
• Proficient knowledge in SQL and relational databases.
• Proficient with web application design.
• Proficient knowledge of Windows Server 2003 operating systems.
• General working knowledge of ASP (VBScript), ColdFusion Visual Studios.NET,

XML and other standard file formats.

• General knowledge of Active Directory and integration of web services infrastructure.

Computer Applications Support:

• Escalate application issues to appropriate TIS personnel and provide appropriate documentation of troubleshooting steps completed via centralized service desk.
• Develop and publish approved documentation to support technology staff and school sites.

School Center/Department Support:

• Assist with the planning and coordination of effective interactions between schools, district administration, and the Technology and Information Systems department regarding web design and updating existing web infrastructure services.
• Provides direction and guidance to technicians and primary school/department contacts for web services.
• Perform service desk related functions and utilize various software applications to troubleshoot remote computers.

Position Qualifications:

• Proven experience and success with design and implementation related to enterprise web architectures.
• Proven experience with web technologies capacity planning, network security principles, and general web technologies best practices.
• Extensive application support experience.
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Able to conduct research into web technologies issues and products as required.
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

• Assigned to service desk as needed.

• May be subject to on-call support duty on a 24 – 7 basis. Availability for occasional weekend service and after hours support during emergency and critical time periods.
• Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work – Exerting 25 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects such as computers, printers peripherals and other technology equipment.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Sitting Resting with the body supported by the buttocks or thighs.

Stooping Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist through the use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Repetitive Motion Substantial and continuous movements of the wrists, hands, and/or

Fingers.
Hearing Acuity The ability to perceive speech and other environmental sounds at normal loudness levels.
Visual Acuity The power to see at a level which allows reading of numbers and text, operation of equipment, inspection of machines, etc.
Dexterity Utilize hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other computer components.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Indoors/Outdoors The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Majority of activities occur inside. Worker may be subject to minimal outdoor environmental conditions.

Noise The worker is subject to noise.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education - Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited

University / College.
Experience:

• Five (5) years verifiable experience in web technologies including design, content management, and development in SQL, HTML, ASP, JavaScript and .Net.
• Ten (10) years verifiable experience in enterprise environments and training or industry certifications may be substituted for degree requirement.
