- Perform engineering design, development and problem-solving equipment, manufacturing and supporting processes
- Demonstrate proficiency in PLC operation, integration, and programming
- Demonstrate proficiency in GUI and high-level language programming
- Be recognized for application of theoretical electrical and controls engineering knowledge and process understanding
- Execute the integration/validation of assigned projects
- Recognize, define, and develop new electrical/control system concepts
- Specify and select vendor components
- Provide designs that are manufacturable and meet safety standards
- Present and participate in review of designs
- Completion of assigned work within an established schedule
- Completion of design documentation with minimal errors including part and assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, Specification sheets, Modification kits, schematics, point to point diagrams, harness diagrams, source code, and project files
- Understand roles of other functions and provide project support as appropriate
- Contribute to team objectives
- Communicate fully with supervisor, project lead, team members, and others that have a need to know in a timely, effective manner
- Abide by corporate policies and quality system procedures
- Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner and contribute to safety and wellbeing of self and others
- Assume responsibility for designs valued greater than $500,000
- Demonstrated competency in design and use of engineering system tools
- Familiar with:
- Electrical codes such as NFPA-79, NEC, and EC standards
- Branch circuit design
- Understanding/competency with:
- PLCs/relay logic
- Motor controllers
- PLC programming
- Tension system
- Programming
- GUI design
- Exhibits willingness and ability to increase knowledge through continuous education
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function of the position
- Interact with others
- Dealing with interpersonal conflicts
- Work with difficult customers
- Work in an office/manufacturing environment
- Coverage during certain periods
