Job Summary - Project Management

The Team Leader Project Management is responsible for the daily operations of the project management team including managing budgets, adherence to schedules, client communications, and contract review, as well as developing strong positive relationships with clients, employees, vendors, and business partners. The Team Lead Project Management works in tandem with MOE internal teams to all internal and external deadlines, standards and project responsibilities are met with the highest of satisfaction.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report directly to the Director of Project Management and collaborates with multiple departments.
  • Maintain a finger on the pulse of all projects to ensure budgets and procurement are tracking to meet expected fees.
  • Provide management of, and mentorship for, Project Management team members and their Assistant Project Managers / Project Engineers.
  • Conduct regular meetings with individual project managers to ensure projects are on track, processes are being followed, and Purchase Orders / Submittals / Change Orders, etc. are being processed in a timely fashion.
  • Share working knowledge of the construction industry to elevate project management, closeout and overall employee understanding of our industry.
  • Adhere to company processes and play an active role in developing strategies related to process improvements for efficiency and profit, as well as cost reductions.
  • Participate in hiring, training, discipline, termination, and performance appraisals for all Project Managers and their Assistant Project Managers / Project Engineers.
  • Attend internal hand off meetings with Project Manager, Manager of Field Operations, Field Supervisor, BIM Manager, and Pre-Construction Manager to provide input on budget, schedule, products, workforce, supervision, logistics, etc.
  • Assist Project Management Team members with their duties and tasks as necessary to help the team manage the ebb and flow of workloads as well as to assist project managers having equal workloads as best as possible.
  • Ensure project managers and their Assistant Project Managers / Project Engineers receive necessary training in a timely manner.
  • Ensure project managers and their Assistant Project Managers / Project Engineers are communicating internally with other MOE teams appropriately while meeting all internal deadlines.
  • Conduct Daily touch bases, weekly in-person discussions and monthly 1 : 1 Meetings with all Project Managers, Attend and assist Project Management team preparations for monthly project and job review meetings internally.
  • Visit jobsites as needed job meetings to confirm status, quality, addresses issues, alert team of potential concerns, etc. Maintain pulse of project including but not limited to profitability, safe working procedures, client relationship, communication of team, procurement and manpower status, deadlines, etc.
  • Conduct daily touch base and provide weekly and monthly reporting on projects and Project Management team to Director of Project Management. Notify Director of Project Management of potential issues immediately.
  • Other related job duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

  • Bachelor's Degree or Related Work Experience
  • 15 years minimum commercial electrical construction industry experience
  • Demonstrated minimum 10 years of experience managing multiple $30MM electrical construction projects at once.
  • OSHA 30 required (can be obtained within 60 days of hire)
  • Understanding of compliance risk management to meet or exceed compliance with union agreements, M / WBE, CCIP / OCIP, Bonding, Prevailing Wage, and other workforce requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Deadline driven with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and mentor project managers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Project Management and Estimating software skills with a willingness to learn new programs.
  • Leadership skills that motivate staff to learn, grow and exceed company expectations. Lead daily with a "train your replacement" mentality.
  • Excellent business judgement to consistently analyze and execute financial trade-offs which frequently involve dealing with incomplete data and ambiguity.
  • Ability to successfully multi-task
  • Perform day to day functions detailed and with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to develop the confidence of clients to gain future project awards.
