Position Summary

 

The Credit Analyst researches and gathers the credit information for pending loan transactions under consideration by the Bank’s Commercial Loan, Commercial Real Estate & Multi-Family departments.   This position analyzes loans up to the Bank’s Legal Lending Limit. The Credit Analyst interprets & analyzes financial information and maintains borrower relationship information in the existing database, ensuring borrower compliance within loan requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze, interpret and spread financial statements (internal, compiled, reviewed, audited and tax returns)
  • Prepare presentations for Commercial Loan, Commercial Real Estate & Multi-Family Loan write-ups (financial analysis, collateral analysis, Guarantor analysis and global debt service analysis)
  • Prepare Accounts Receivable aging collateral analysis
  • Complete personal/business debt service
  • Prepare rent roll analyses
  • Identify Loan Policy Exceptions and mitigating factors
  • Communicate with Loan Officers
  • Monitor collateral advances
  • Review field audit reports on asset-based lines
  • Update and maintain customer tickler information on Bank’s internal tracking software
  • Request and analyze credit bureaus and litigation searches
  • Update Commercial Lending Administrative Assistants and Loan Officers on status of weekly write-ups for Loan Committee
  • Calculate loan profitability using internal software pricing model
  • Prepare and maintain Covered Transaction report on a quarterly basis for all loans secured by Marquette Bank stock
  • Adhere to Bank Policies, Code of Conduct and internal controls for which this position is responsible
  • Actively comply with all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, and all other deposit, lending, or non-deposit service regulations; adhering to the Bank’s internal policies, procedures, and risk management responsibilities contained in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Code of Conduct, and other applicable policies, as well as internal controls for which this position is responsible
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor


Knowledge/Abilities/Experience and Training Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. 
  • Commercial credit analysis experience preferred.
  • Effective writing and data entry skills.
  • Strong oral communication, effective listening skills, detail oriented and quality customer service skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle difficult and sensitive business situations.
  • Solid analytical, creative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to coordinate projects.
  • Established ability to meet deadlines while working on multiple projects.

  • Employee may need to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Employee may need to constantly position themselves in the office in order to retrieve files from upper and lower drawers.
  • Employee in this position frequently communicates with staff and clients and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Employee may need to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Employee specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
