General Summary:
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, aiding in the prevention of cross contamination, controlling bacteria and odor and sustaining an acceptable aseptic condition. Will work Monday through Thursday 4 pm- 12 am.
Essential Job Duties:
- Must have flexible hours
- Must function independently and have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with patients and personnel
- Must be able to read all labels and mix chemicals correctly
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc. in excess of 50 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders, assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc. as directed or requested.
- Must be able to strip, wax, buff and refinish floors
- Must be able to shampoo carpet areas as needed
- Must follow safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies
- Assures that equipment is cleaned, maintained and properly stored at the end of the shift
- Keep the Environmental Supervisor informed of supply needs
- Damp mops hard surface floors on a continuous basis
- Must be able to use stepladder, vacuum cleaner and attachments, caution signs, putty knife/scraper, and wet/dry vacuum
- Moves all furniture and equipment from areas as needed
- Knowledge of different uses of floor wax remover and stripper solution (appropriate for type of floor) and stripping/buffing pads
- Mixes the stripping solution according to manufacturers recommendations
- Performs other duties as assigned on a daily basis
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of the proper use of floor finish and stripper, carpet extraction machine, carpet shampoo and spot remover. Knowledge of fan drying.
Education and Experience Required:
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred but not mandatory. Comparable experience in floor work can be considered in leu of a high school diploma.
