Provides leadership, administration and direction for the department and ACCORD to ensure accomplishment
of its goals/objectives.
DUTIES/POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
WORK ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs annual evaluations, along with Chair.
Assists with faculty grants, including existing R25, R01s, and STEM grants.
Works with Lead Coordinator on all clinical trial assignments.
Works with finance director to coordinate finances pertaining to clinical trials, including Clinical Research and
Research cost centers, reporting to Chair monthly.
Assist coordinating multiple executive MU, MURC events; annual Research Day, COBRE, COBRE EAC,
Research Retreat.
Implements Department’s policies and procedures.
Develops Departmental and COBRE budget under direction of the Chair.
Runs monthly reports of accounts for multiple grants of the Vice Dean.
Oversees and coordinates Research web pages, including Office of Research and Graduate Education, Graduate
Education Programs, DCTS, ACTSI, and ACCORD.
Oversees and directs off-site Biomedical Research office staff.
Coordinates all COBRE-related activities with COBRE PI and Administrative Director.
Coordinates COBRE annual report with COBRE Administrative Director and NIH.
Coordinates all lateral communication between the University of Kentucky, WVU and Marshall University
Directors and Personnel, including teleconferences and monthly reporting of clinical trials, both current and
upcoming.
