Job Title: AmeriCorps Member - Recovery Corps Cost Center: 301081064 Ctr For Community Health Adv Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Employee Type: Temporary - Non-Benefited (Fixed Term) Work Shift: Mon-Fri; day shifts (United States of America) Job Description: AmeriCorps, often referred to as a domestic Peace Corps, places individuals within communities to commit a year to serving others. AmeriCorps is a real-life education and work experience wrapped into one. As a member, you will learn teamwork, leadership, responsibility and other essential skills that will benefit you while gaining personal satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference in your community. This program places individuals across sites in Wisconsin. Members will undergo training in the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) model of recovery coaching and serve as recovery coaches. Recovery coaches will focus on helping those impacted by a prescription drug, opioid, and other substance use disorder through one-on-one contact, outreach phone calls, and community education. **This position is located in multiple locations across Wisconsin.** Term of Service: 9/8/2025 - 08/28/2026 Benefits for full-time positions (1,700 hours - 35-40 hours per week): Health, vision, and dental insurance for member - premium paid in full Modest living stipend Childcare assistance (if qualified), up to 100% of costs $7,395 education award upon successful completion of service Forbearance on qualified student loans and interest accrual payments while serving Professional training and service gear Required Orientation & Training for all positions (expenses covered): September 8 - 12, 2025 September 15 – 19, 2025 Please apply only if you are able to attend these trainings. Job Qualifications Applicants must be 17 years of age by September 8, 2025 to start and possess or be working towards a high school diploma or GED/HSED and pass required background checks. The ideal candidate will have at least one year in recovery or lived experience.
