CT Tech/Radiology Technologist

Job Title: CT Tech/Radiology Technologist Cost Center: 301701108 WRHos-Radiology-General Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: 12-hour PM shifts, variable days (United States of America) Job Description: JOB SUMMARY Work Shift: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, 3 days per week and includes every 3rd weekend rotation. This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus plus excellent pm and night shift pay differentials! The CT Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures using ionizing radiation that requires independent judgment, ingenuity, initiative, and requires 6 months to one year of training to produce diagnostic computed tomography (CT) images. The CT Technologist works under the direction of a Radiologist to perform CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision for technical detail. The Technologist assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures and taking corrective action for minor equipment and/or computer malfunctions. Room set up, patient positioning, patient screening, image acquisition and quality control are the direct responsibilities of the Technologist. Must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care. Each technologist is responsible for the safety of his/her patients, visitors, and medical staff in the CT area while in his or her care. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Graduate of a Certificate, Military, or Higher Learning Radiography program. Preferred/Optional: Additionally, 6-12 months of CT training. EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: None Preferred/Optional: Two years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist or CT Technologist. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Valid Radiographer licensure in the State of Wisconsin. ARRT Certification in Radiology with eligibility for CT Certification. Must obtain CT certification within 30 months. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA).
