Job Title: Dermatology Technician Cost Center: 301191082 Eau Claire-Dermatology Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: See Job Description for detail (United States of America) Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Dermatology Technician I functions as a member of the healthcare team by providing clinical and technical support to assist providers in providing for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The individual will complete basic procedures as requested by the provider and will assist providers with procedures. The Dermatology Technician I performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health Systems’ mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality. WORK SHIFT Mon - Fri; 7:00 am - 5:00 pm; variable hours JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Graduate of a medical assistant, licensed practical nurse, registered nurse or surgical technologist program. Preferred/Optional: None EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: Working knowledge of medical terminology. Preferred/Optional: Dermatology experience in healthcare. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire and one of the following: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license awarded by the State of Wisconsin or Surgical Technologist certification awarded by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within two years of hire. Grandfathering applies if the individual was hired into this role prior to 8/22/2018. Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
