Job Title: AP Assessment Champion
Job Summary:
We are seeking an organized and proactive individual to serve as the AP Assessment Champion. This role involves overseeing the administration of Advanced Placement (AP) tests, providing detailed data reports, facilitating clear communication with staff and parents, and working to remove both financial and academic barriers to testing for students.
What is an Advanced Placement (AP) Test?
Advanced Placement (AP) tests are college-level exams administered to high school students who have completed AP courses in various subjects. Developed by the College Board, these tests assess students' knowledge and skills in specific subject areas. High scores on AP tests can earn students college credit and advanced placement in college courses, providing an opportunity to demonstrate readiness for higher education and potentially reduce college tuition costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate AP Test Administration:
- Oversee the scheduling and organization of AP tests at the school site.
- Arrange test dates, locations, and proctor assignments for each AP exam.
- Ensure that all AP test materials and resources are ordered, distributed, and securely handled.
- Address and resolve any issues that arise during the testing process to ensure a smooth administration.
- Data Reporting:
- Compile, analyze, and prepare detailed data reports related to AP test performance and participation.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data to improve future testing processes and support student achievement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for each AP test administration.
- Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all AP test-related communications with staff, students, and parents.
- Develop and distribute informative materials about AP tests, including schedules, procedures, and preparation tips.
- Address any questions or concerns from staff and parents in a timely and professional manner.
- Remove Financial Barriers:
- Identify and address financial barriers that may have prevented students from participating in AP tests.
- Ensure that all students have equal access to AP testing opportunities
- Remove Academic Barriers:
- Identify and support students who may face academic challenges that could impact their performance on AP tests.
- Work with teachers and academic advisors to develop strategies and interventions to help students succeed in AP courses and on AP exams.
- Provide resources and support to help students improve their preparedness and confidence for AP testing.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in data analysis and report generation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to removing barriers and supporting equitable access to educational opportunities.
Compensation:
- This is an extra duty pay position of $2000.
This position will not play a part in the evaluation of other licensed staff members.
