Role: Accounting Clerk
Reports to: VP of Finance
Position Summary:
The Accounting Clerk supports the financial operations of the credit union by performing a variety of clerical and accounting tasks. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily transactions, assisting with account reconciliations, and supporting monthly and year-end closing activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with numbers in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and general ledger entries for assigned accounts.
- Prepare daily and monthly account reconciliations for various accounts, as assigned.
- Reconcile bank statements and internal accounts on a regular basis.
- Assist in the monthly closing process to ensure satisfactory completion of the monthly financial statements.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
- Support other accounting staf, collaborate across departments, and perform additional duties as assigned.
- 2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in the financial services or credit union industry.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Ofice Suite, particularly Excel.
- Basic understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a credit union, bank, or other financial institution.
- Knowledge of credit union regulations and reporting standards.
