Job Responsibilities:
The Buyer is responsible for the purchasing and procurement for their assigned product categories and vendors. This person will also engage in strategic planning for establishing and maintaining new procurement procedures.
- Orders assigned products on a daily and weekly frequency
- Confirms all POs
- Maintains vendor relationship
- Works closely with Receiving clerk
- Maintains accurate product description, cost, pack-size in inventory management system
- Maintains accurate vendor information – contacts, freight, order guides, in the vendor management system
- Reviews product usage reports to assess any increase or decrease in product usage
Required qualifications:
- Experience in purchasing
- Valid Drivers License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into a truck - physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo
- Time management
- Ability and motivation to learn industry specific skills
- Must be older than 18 years of age
Preferred qualifications but not required:
- Ability to speak Spanish
- WMS Experience
- Food Safety certifications
- Licensed or Certified Forklift operator
