Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area. Job Duties:
The Manager of Supplier Quality is responsible for the following:
Team Support:
Coaching, training and development of Supplier Quality Engineers and supporting staff.
Management and communication of company policies, goals, targets and functional KP ls.
Establish and conduct regular one on one meetings to support team members
Functional responsibilities:
- Ensuring the effective management of the following:
- Supplier approval and Approve Supplier List process activities
- Supplier performance monitoring and the deliverance of supplier scorecards
- Supplier corrective action request processes and ensuring timely completion and effectiveness
- Supplier nonconformity management supporting activities and communication that may include Quality notices, SCARs and the accompanying meetings or visits to ensure their closure.
- Supplier engagement via Pre/Post awards, training, audits and other visits to promote compliance.
- Supplier risk mitigation support with Supply Chain.
- Supplier GIDEP and alert management support, when they occur.
- Supplier Disclosure of Discrepant Material process management and support
- Provide supplier training, when necessary, on PAP flow down requirements; proper interpretation of spec requirements; how to properly respond to a SCAR; common supplier documentation errors; and how supplier performance scorecards are determined.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of supply chain management or supplier quality management experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in aerospace hardware (HW) quality control/assurance.
- Minimum of 8 years in a hands-on supervisory or management level experience.
- Ability to read and interpret drawing and specification requirements
- Must be able to create and present metrics to support quality status and goals.
- Must have excellent writing (English) skills and be able to write procedures and work instructions.
- Must have experience with Material Review Boards and the Casual Analyses and Resolution process.
- Understanding of the AS9100 SAE standard and the aerospace quality system requirements, preferred.
- College degree in Business Management, Engineering or related field a plus.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
- ASQ or equivalent certification preferred.

- Experienced Quality background with an understanding of manufacturing.
- Project management education and/or skills relative to project planning, task management, work breakdown structures, resource planning, validation of effectiveness, and risk assessment.

- Strong influencing skills: track record of successful interpersonal relationship development and ability to quickly build credibility and gain the confidence of individuals at all levels.
- Strong sense of accountability; passion for owning projects and driving them to completion.
- Maintain awareness of company goals and objectives and specifically those of the
- Quality organization, to ensure alignment with selected projects and project goals.
- Ability to effectively drive multiple projects and possess excellent communication skills.
- Use of project planning tools such as Microsoft Excel (Gantt charts), Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, etc.
