Job Summary:We are seeking a dependable and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to maintain the physical integrity of our apartment community. The ideal candidate will perform repairs, troubleshoot equipment and systems, and ensure the property is in excellent condition for residents and guests. This position plays a key role in resident satisfaction through timely and high-quality maintenance services.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work within apartment units and common areas.
- Respond promptly to service requests from residents and complete work orders efficiently.
- Prepare vacant units for new residents by completing inspections, repairs, cleaning, and painting as needed (make-readies).
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on property systems and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of maintenance shop, tools, and inventory areas.
- Assist in maintaining grounds, including trash pickup, snow removal, and minor landscaping tasks.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with property standards and local building codes.
- Be available for after-hours emergency maintenance calls on a rotating basis.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is a plus.
- Previous experience in apartment or residential property maintenance preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of building systems and maintenance tools.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
Preferred Certifications (a plus but not required):
- EPA Section 608 Certification (HVAC)
- Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT)
- OSHA Safety Certification
Work Environment:
- Residential apartment complex; both indoor and outdoor work required.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
