General Responsibilities:
· Supports the Social Work Manager in leading the Social Work Department.
· Provides consultation to teachers and other agency staff as a liaison with families.
· Provides advocacy and case management for families to ensure availability and use of agency or other community services as needed.
· Provides social work services for students (assigned caseload) and acts as an advocate, liaison, and consultant on related issues for students and families. They are an integral part of the MCCC school program in supporting an optimum physical, emotional, mental, and social climate for all students and staff.
· Coordinates and plays an integral role in the transition process for students entering and exiting the school program.
· Participates in Social Work coverage as assigned by Social Work Manager
· Assists as needed in the management of emergency situations related to students, families, and the agency.
· Assists with the referral and intake process for students referred to the Mary Cariola pre-school and school age programs, as assigned by the Social Work Manager
· May be required to transport students and/or families when deemed necessary by the Social Work Manager
· Supports the coordination and delivery of social work services through communication and collaboration with school staff and administration, parents, students, and community resources.
· Provides direct supervision, performance management, evaluation, and support to social workers. Fully participates in the development and implementation of the Mary Cariola School Program
· Available for various discipline related meetings and in-service sessions as deemed necessary by Social Work Manager
· Fully engages in educational, behavioral and clinical services to ensure that all students are receiving an appropriate and complete educational program.
· Understands the psychological and medical characteristics of the population served by the agency.
· Participates in Agency functions as requested.
· Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain NYS licensure and stay current in the field of Social Work
· Serves as a member of school and Agency committees as assigned by the Social Work Manager
· All other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
