Duties and Responsibilities
- Fully engage in educational, behavioral and clinical services to ensure all students are receiving an appropriate and complete educational program
- Implement school policies, procedures and processes
- Develop and maintain strong working relations with outside agency providers such as medical, behavioral, therapeutic, etc. providers
- Work closely with parents and/or residential staff in both consultation and training for the student’s school and home programming needs
- Conduct meetings for behavior plan and casebook reviews as necessary
- Work with Teachers to provide coaching for Teacher Assistants and Classroom Aides regarding behavior plans
- Complete all records and reports as requested
- Participate on an interdisciplinary team to provide initial and ongoing evaluations for each student and to establish appropriate therapeutic goals and program recommendations
- Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) based on multiple sources of data (indirect assessments, direct observations, experimental analyses, etc.)
- Develop and modify Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to meet student needs
- Train all team members on specific techniques necessary to carry out the individualized BIPs
- Provide ongoing consultation, support, modeling and training for agency staff in carrying out BIPs
- Supervise Crisis Intervention Specialists
- Analyze behavior data regularly, making individual student programming decisions/changes
- Develop and monitor toilet training programs as needed
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field of Behavior Analysis
- Support implementation of evidence-based practices throughout the agency
- Maintain accurate and current records for each student on caseload, including appropriate data collection and administrative procedures
- Comply with all NYSED requirements
- Other duties may be assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology or Special Education; Behavior Analysis degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience with students with developmental disabilities
- Experience conducting various assessments including preference assessments, skills assessment and functional behavioral assessments
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English including interpreting documents such as safety rules and policy and procedure manuals
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Certifications and Trainings
- NCI certification (will be provided by agency if you do not already possess)
- NYS License in Behavior Analysis preferred
Salary : $41,500 - $54,000
