Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist customers with their purchases, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual abilities and prior retail experience are a plus.
Duties
- Operate POS systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Assist customers with product inquiries and provide product demos when necessary
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves and assisting with inventory counts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Handle phone inquiries professionally following proper phone etiquette
- Supervise or assist in supervising other team members as needed
- Support in maintaining a clean and organized store environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic math skills for cashiering and retail math calculations
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer service excellence
- Ability to upsell products effectively and perform merchandising tasks
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs
- Supervising experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment with excellent interpersonal skills
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
