Maryland Family Network (MFN) seeks a dynamic Training Coordinator to lead the department's training development initiatives through hosting, developing and providing in-person, virtual instructor-led, online, and blended training, ensuring that all tasks associated with the training are completed, as requested, to quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • In consultation with the Training Director, map out training plans and schedules, design and develop agency training programs (outsourced or in-house).
  • Provide training on subjects related to human services, infant/toddler development, staff development, parent support and leadership and other topics as requested.
  • Choose appropriate training methods for the subject matter and audience (virtual, simulated, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, etc.).
  • Coordinate training activities related to MFN’s FSC and EHS staff trainings, Strengthening Families and Parent Cafés throughout Maryland, including planning, outreach, curriculum development, researching and handling logistics for training sites, preparing training materials, communicating with potential and established speakers and facilitators, and providing training and technical assistance, including parent leader coaching/mentoring, related to Strengthening Families and Parent Cafés.
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
  • Create on-line learning courses using video editing and authoring tools combining elements from various applications into seamless courses. Upload courses to the LMS and track completion.
  • Coordinate the activities of the state-wide Virtual Parent Café team, including tracking of eligibility, qualified individuals/groups, involvement of parent leaders, payment of room host and parent leader stipends.
  • With training department team, maintain the MFN FSC/EHS training database and Strengthening Families Parent Café and Facilitator databases, entering information accurately and promptly and preparing reports as needed.
  • Assist with developing an effective, statewide flexible tracking system, for ensuring appropriate action on requests for Parent Café start-up materials and incentive checks.
  • Process fulfillment of Parent Café materials and invoices, track activity and keep the Strengthening Families team & leadership informed about action needed on requests.
  • Facilitate Parent Cafés and assist state-wide organizations with Parent Café activities.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance to MFN hired speakers and Parent Café trained Facilitators.
  • Further develop knowledge and skills in Parent Cafés and Strengthening Families by participating in Strengthening Families training, train-the-trainer, or other training as recommended.


KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Early Childhood Development or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in creating, providing and coordinating in person and on-line training on subjects related to human services or infant/toddler development required;
  • At least 6 months of experience working with adult learners required;
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, database management, and other online tools required;
  • Familiarity with video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Teams, and social media campaigns required;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments;
  • Experience working with parents and/or in community involvement;
  • A customer service mindset;
  • Ability to travel statewide, occasional overnights included;
  • Valid driver's license and regular access to reliable, enclosed, transportation; and
  • Ability to transport materials to scheduled events.

ENVIRONMENTAL:

  • Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions, and brisk walking, stooping, crawling, and lifting boxes and or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 required for all MFN staff. Exemptions to the vaccine requirement will be considered for individuals with medical conditions that prevent them from being vaccinated and for individuals with sincerely held religious beliefs that prohibit them from being vaccinated, consistent with federal and Maryland law.
  • In response to COVID-19, MFN staff enjoy a hybrid remote work schedule.
