General purpose: To assist with daily operational needs and services of the Fitness Center Summary of Essential Functions Act as first responder if/when injury/incident occurs in the Fitness Center Demonstrates exemplary customer service skills Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Greets all individuals entering the facility with a positive attitude, checking for membership eligibility Walks the facility every 30 minutes checking for injured members, hazards, and litter Answer all incoming phone calls and provide information or take messages as needed Cleans and maintains fitness equipment and facility as outlined in the cleaning checklist Assists with rental equipment, check out/on process Input member data into security software Performs duties as assigned during shift Enforces and supports all MICA Fitness policies and procedures Participates in all staff trainings and meetings Must attend at least 2 Wellness events over the course of the year Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of basic fitness equipment Strong organizational skills Ability to demonstrate positive customer service Minimum Qualifications: Currently enrolled as a MICA student Good disciplinary and academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 Demonstrates interest in Wellness, fitness, and recreational activities Compensation Information: An hourly rate of $13.25 This includes paid monthly meetings Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
