Investment Operations Manager

The Investment Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the firm’s portfolio management and operations functions. This role works closely with both internal partners and external constituents including life insurance companies, fund administrators, and custodians to calculate monthly NAV’s, monitor and reconcile accounts and create reports. This position reports to the firm’s Director of Operations.

Responsibilities

·       Act as a lead for the firm’s investment accounting, investment reporting, and compliance reporting functions.

·       Independently maintain relationships with external administrators and custodians and key persons on their teams.

·       Curate monthly Net Asset Values for all portfolios and maintain transaction register.

·       Assist with and monitor the reconciliation of all transactions and account values. Ensure completion of specified tasks per Portfolio Review Committee.

·       Collect, evaluate and synthesize investment documentation to enhance existing operational workflows.

·       Work with accounting department to verify adherence to agreements as it relates to fee calculation and application; provide final approvals for fee invoicing.

·       Assist with audit and other accounting related projects and financial/internal reporting responsibilities, as necessary.

·       Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold adherence to company policies and procedures.

·       Provide cross-functional support, including active participation in committees, timely delivery of monthly materials and performance reporting.

·       Additional items as required.

Qualifications

·       BA or BS degree required in a relevant field of study such as Finance, Accounting, Statistics or Economics.

·       3-5 years of relevant experience in the investment management industry; preferably mid/back-office operations at an investment advisor, broker dealer, or fund administrator.

·       Experience with managing a team of at least 5 individuals.

·       Understanding of fund accounting (“U.S. GAAP”), FASB ASC 820 and performance measurement principles, GIPS® compliance, Life Insurance related sections of the Internal Revenue Code, their governing rules, and regulations, as well as other related federal securities laws for investment advisers.

·       Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

·       Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; English fluency.

·       Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.

·       Superior organizational, time management and prioritization skills. Flexibility to meet specified deadlines and ability to work under pressure.

·       Proficient use of Microsoft Office 365 tools.

·       Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
