Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead, direct and empower US and international QA teams in best practices for product development, supplier QA, safety & regulatory compliance and after-market quality.
- Create and implement QA systems for policies, procedures, standards and supplier agreements.
- Oversee product validation and verification process.
- Define KPIs and targets for tracking quality trends and implementing solutions to areas needing improvement. Monitor trends in quality and throughout product lifecycle including field failures. Keeps management abreast of quality levels and status.
- Use working knowledge of quality tools such as CAPA/8D, brainstorming, histograms, pareto charts, fishbone diagrams, flowcharts, FMEA, etc. to collect, analyze and interpret data to improve product quality, system management and process efficiencies.
- Develop and maintain systems for ensuring products meet internal requirements and customer expectations with superior quality and reliability while working within budget and controlling waste.
- Communicate and work closely with all levels of the organizations on corporate initiatives.
- Promote quality culture and awareness for quality & company initiatives to drive product/process improvements and increased customer experience.
- Lead Field Product Safety Team in investigation, documentation, corrective actions and interfacing with internal legal team.
- Maintain and expand cost of poor quality (COPQ) program.
- Prepare budgets and ongoing resource/staffing requirements.
- Keep ahead of industry’s development and apply best practices to areas of improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in a global manufacturing environment and new product development milestone system.
- 5 years of upper management experience, leading departmental managers/supervisors.
- 5 years of product testing/validation experience.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/acoustic/quality engineering, business management or related field.
- Strong judgement and ability for problem solving using cross-functional collaboration to analyze situations and information leading to continuous improvements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with global teams in a culturally diverse environment.
- Ability to work within cross-functional teams (as a team member and leader).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite – Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrates high levels of energy and enthusiasm to accomplish goals
- Assumes accountability to deliver on commitments.
- Occasional domestic and international travel required (~5-10%).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred knowledge of consumer electronics and consumer audio products.
- Preferred knowledge of global safety & regulatory requirements and practices associated with consumer electronics.
- Preferred industry certifications in quality management, quality engineering, Lean/Six Sigma.
- The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced planning professional who is a strong communicator.
Salary Range:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $155,000 - $195,000 plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 25% AIP bonus based on company, department, and individual performance
