Position: Extended Care Aide

Performance Responsibilities
1. Attends staff meetings and training as deemed necessary by the program coordinator.
2. Assists in planning daily activities such as arts and crafts, gym activities, etc.
3. Interacts actively with children in activities and homework. Attention should be spread among all students.
4. Assists in determining effective use of facilities and equipment.
5. Assists in providing snacks and/or breakfast, including setup and cleanup of the food and eating area.
6. Returning any and all equipment and supplies to the proper storage facilities in a neat and clean manner.
7. Works under the general supervision of the coordinator and assistant coordinator.
8. Acts in a leadership role when called upon if coordinator or assistant coordinator are absent.
9. Maintains a clean environment for the students by a. Cleaning tables b. Sweeping floors c. Emptying garbage
10. Assist with Enrichment when necessary (such as watch over children before instructors arrive for classes).
11. Discipline children when necessary. I.e. stop negative behavior and redirect attention in a timely manner before escalation.
12. Walk children from building to building as necessary.
13. Greet parents as they arrive and make sure parents remember to sign in/out.
14. Be willing to work a split shift daily, covering both before school and after school sessions
15. Other duties/responsibilities as requested by the coordinator or assistant coordinator.
