Mason Meals is a Non-Profit Sponsor under the Child and Adult Care Food Program that provides nutritious meals to Philadelphia area Child and Adult Care facilities.
The Logistics Manager position is established to carry out the demands of Mason Meals’ logistical needs and manage a team of drivers to ensure organization, accuracy, and consistency both at Mason Meals and our sponsored daycare centers.
Logistics Manager Tasks
- Program Knowledge – Be able to recall the requirements of CACFP nutrition and requirements in order to accurately and effectively assist Mason Meals in the operation of the program.
- Menu Knowledge – Anticipate company needs by maintaining thorough knowledge of monthly menus.
- Manage a Team – Enforce company’s established procedures; assign tasks and provide guidance for team to operate with accuracy; monitor employee performance; be consistently available for team’s needs while on route, as well as when callouts occur; step in to perform a Logistic employee’s duties if necessary; properly and effectively administer disciplinary action when required.
- Documentation Assembly and Review – Use of Excel spreadsheets to administer prep information to the Logistics Team; ensure accurate completion of prep-sheets; maintain organization of completed prep-sheets; review of daily delivery forms both before and after delivery to confirm accurate deliveries will be sent and are completed.
- Inventory Maintenance – Keep inventory and consistent knowledge of dry-good products entering and leaving the facility; make judgement calls for necessary item replacements.
- Sprinter Van Maintenance – Keep consistent knowledge of the wellness of company vehicles and responsibly schedule maintenance when required.
- Communicate – Stay informed of changing information and communicate effectively with own team and fellow management to maintain information awareness across all parties.
- Work as a team, as well as independently.
- Use of Google Sheets and Google Calendar for company information.
- Lift over 25lbs.
Qualifications:
· 3-5 years management experience.
· Driver’s License
· Current High School Diploma required; able to demonstrate command of basic math skills.
· Knowledgeable in Excel, Google Sheets and Google Calendar.
· Demonstrated ability for effective decision-making.
· Basic knowledge of:
· Safe food handling and organization
· FIFO (first-in, first-out) inventory management
· Demonstrated ability to quickly learn & apply information within a short timeframe.
· Strong Communication & Organizational Skills
· Dependable; able to consistently arrive on time and perform tasks in a timely and consistent manner.
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: Negotiable
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6am start time (no exceptions).
