Load Planner

Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly-driven Load Planner to join our team. This role focuses on maximizing efficiency, profitability, and on-time deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation planning, a deep understanding of what it takes to run productive trucks, and a problem-solving mindset essential for the fast-paced world of food-hauling logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize Load Planning: Utilize the Optimal Dynamics system as the primary tool to create efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery schedules for refrigerated local, regional, and long-haul loads.

• Problem-Solving Across Operations: Address real-time issues such as route changes, equipment breakdowns, load adjustments, and people-related challenges to ensure seamless operations.

• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the operations team including Customer Account Managers and Driver Managers to align load planning with customer needs, driver availability, and company goals.

• Focus on Metrics: Drive business success by achieving key performance metrics, including on-time deliveries, revenue growth, and profitability.

• Troubleshoot System Issues: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system-related problems independently or in collaboration with vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transportation planning, preferably within food-hauling companies.

• Solid understanding of fleet productivity and operational requirements for refrigerated trucking.

• Proficiency with logistics software such as Optimal Dynamics, PowerPro, and Omnitracs.

• 
  Minimum of 1-3 years experience in logistics either planning, dispatch or customer service

• Proficient in using transportation management systems

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities

• Team player with a collaborative mindset

• Bachelor’s degree prefered
