Field tech shall support engineering services through detailed collection of information from the job site to ensure engineering compliance with company/client requirements. At a minimum, the position requires a detailed working knowledge of Outside Plant fiber and copper networks; responsible for identifying the existing field design and layout of OSP telecommunications network to include aerial, buried, and underground fiber network design and layout, underground conduit, manhole/handhole, building entrance, and riser facilities.
As a Fielder, you are responsible for providing support in the maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecommunication site infrastructures. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.
In addition, you will:
* Take legible field notes for the design of telecommunication construction drawings in aerial, buried, underground, and building applications
* Analyze work site and design requests and determine the scope of work to be completed
* Recognize and document utilities in a public right-of-way
* Determine proper placement of fiber facilities within a public right-of-way and properly indicate any and all obstructions.
* The ability to identify any potential issues with proposed routes and solve problems quickly

* Meet any and all due dates of work expectations
* Pay attention to detail and converse with the Designer any concerns
* Interact with internal & external customers and represent our Company and our Client in a professional manner
* Adhere to all Company Safety practices & policies
* No supervisory responsibilities

* Dress to complete work in an outside environment while maintaining a professional appearance.
Qualifications:
* Qualify on pre-employment screening
* Possess basic telecommunication knowledge
* Able to be trained to complete field notes utilizing telecommunications OSP design and engineering practices
* Possess a valid state driver's license and non-negligent driving record
* Reliable personal vehicle used as transportation in the completion of all requests
Skills:
* Above average penmanship is a must, as hand drawn field notes will be completed
* Possess STRONG communication & PEOPLE skills
* Strong language skills are required
* Demonstrate good defensive driving skills
Position Status:
This part time position
Offered salary:
Begin on an hourly pay rate for training, then you are compensated on a unit-based commission. Paid hourly for PTO. Starting salary is $13-$15 per hour depending on experience. Unit pay will be determined prior to start of the job. You are paid to take field notes only, and no design work
