Job Summary:
The Honing Technician will be responsible for performing internal honing operations on high-precision aerospace components to ensure they meet strict dimensional and surface finish specifications. This role requires close attention to detail, familiarity with measurement tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual and/or automated honing equipment
- Inspect parts before and after honing using bore gauges, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints and specifications to determine honing requirements
- Make adjustments to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes
- Maintain process documentation and production records
- Perform regular equipment maintenance and keep work area clean and organized
- Communicate with Quality and Production teams regarding part quality or issues
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Preferred::
- Experience with Sunnen or similar honing equipment
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards
- Experience working in a CNC machine shop or aerospace environment
Qualifications:
- Previous honing or precision finishing experience preferred (especially in aerospace or medical manufacturing)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on machining knowledge
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial bore gauges, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and process documentation
- Detail-oriented with a focus on producing quality work
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with accuracy

Pay: $23.93 - $28.82 per hour
