MaTex Hose is a wholesale and manufacturing facility of lay flat hose located in Dothan, Alabama.

A warehouse clerk will assist in keeping track of inventory, overseeing shipments and deliveries, and keeping the warehouse organized.

In addition to the organizational skills and physical strength required to manage and store inventory, the warehouse clerk's job description also requires the ability to manage any administrative and clerical details necessary to keep the warehouse running smoothly.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Warehouse Clerk

· Set up machinery for operation

· Start machinery and adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance.

· Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions

· Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance

· Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to the supervisor

· Comply with all safety and health regulations

· Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in the work area

· Stack merchandise on racks.

· Stock warehouse with tools.

· Ensure machinery is serviced and functional.

· Check-in merchandise and affix labels.

· Match purchase orders to sales orders and distribute to sales associates for processing.

· Fulfill customer orders.

· Move materials off racks and package for shipment.

· Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items.

· Follow all safety codes.

· Place merchandise on pallets or shelves for distribution.

· Record amounts of materials or items received.

· Perform facilities maintenance.

· Sort material according to size, type, style, color, or product code.

· Carry out tasks as assigned by the warehouse supervisor / manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Possesses strong organizational skills

· Good hand-eye coordination

· Commitment to safety rules

· Is detail-oriented and capable of noticing small errors on orders or defective aspects of products

· Maintains physical stamina and strength required to move heavy equipment and product weighing up to 75 pounds

· Works well with others

· Exhibits strong communication skills, essential for working with other employees and with customers

· Demonstrates the alertness and physical dexterity required to fulfill responsibilities of the job

· Must be capable of managing time effectively and multi-tasking as necessary

· Demonstrates familiarity with all warehouse safety precautions and is always able to observe these.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED is required

Must be able to read and write in English

Reliable mode of transportation

Work 2nd Shift

Experience working in a warehouse environment

Work Environment
Time may also be spent meeting with supervisors in an office

Warehouse temperatures are variable and often uncontrolled, must be able to work in warehouse with varying temperatures

Conditions in the warehouse can be dangerous, as tasks involve the operation of heavy machinery and transporting of large product loads

Tasks are physically demanding, requiring long hours of lifting, standing, and carrying

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
