What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Delivery Driver position at Matheny Motors?
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Parts Delivery Driver drives company vehicles to pick up and deliver parts. He/she transports products from local parts sources and delivers them to our dealership. Most importantly and without exception, the Delivery Driver operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous fashion
- Provides the parts and/or accessories in a timely fashion
- Ensures deliveries are promptly received and notifies internal or external customers accordingly
- Picks up and delivers parts and equipment to customers, wholesale accounts, and vendors
- Keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups
- Requests recipient's signature on each delivery entry
- Unloads truck each night
- Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts daily
- Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed
- Understands that the customer is the source of all revenue and should be treated with utmost respect
- Performs other duties, including warehouse duties, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience strongly preferred
- Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
- Self-motivation and the ability to work in a team environment
- Genuinely helpful attitude and friendly demeanor
- An impressive work-ethic
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
