Position: Sanitation Lead

Location: Delafield, WI

Flexible Schedule- Morning/Afternoon/Evening Hours

Full-time, Monday through Thursday - 10 Hour Shifts

Duties

  • Detailed sanitation and up-keep of the facility, ensuring that all processing equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized to established standards.
  • Is expected to be a leader within the team and across the floor – lead by example and influence
  • Coordinate and ensure completion of tasks on cleaning checklists.
  • Train all sanitation personnel upon hire in best practices, safety, to understand MSDS information, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Responsible for inventory control of all supplies for the sanitation department.
  • Communicate with production management to determine cleaning priorities.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and reports as needed.
  • Assist Quality Manager, Quality Technicians and/or others in the facility with safety, training and quality audits related to sanitation.
  • Removal of all trash and product/soil from plant, cleaning of floors, walls, and ceilings.
  • Janitorial work in restrooms and offices as needed.
  • Follow all Sanitation equipment, chemical and tool guidelines. Understand and correctly use chemicals safely and efficiently.
  • Operates sweepers, scrubbers, pressure washers and other janitorial type equipment.
  • May be required to apply pesticides and maintain cleanliness outside the food manufacturing areas.
  • Responsible for maintaining the perimeter and parking lot to ensure cleanliness.
  • Mix and use chemicals related to cleaning and sanitizing equipment.
  • Maintain records, files, and processes single documents.
  • Reports food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Promotes teamwork and effective relations among all contacts by setting positive examples.
  • Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment: attends required training, identifies and reports hazards; wears required PPE for position; and is accountable for self as well as co-worker safety.
  • Is familiar with and complies with SQF Food Safety standards and ensures all product produced meets assigned quality standards.
  • Must be available to work outside of scheduled shifts as needed
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 year past experience doing sanitation in a food production facility.
  • Able to work independently or in team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of chemical usage, proportions and regulations, Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets
  • Decision making, problem solving and listening skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to learn and adhere to proper safety procedures when working with moving machinery.
  • Must be comfortable with spending time on your feet and moving.
  • Comfortable with using ladders to reach high areas.
  • Significant strength is required for many cleaning operations.
  • Lift heavy containers of chemicals, and empty trash receptacles around production.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently but they may work together to clean different parts of the same facility.

Salary : $42,900 - $54,400
