What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic setting.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and handle physically active days.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Professionalism: Maintain a positive attitude, a neat appearance, and a team-first mentality.
Key Responsibilities:
You'll be hands-on in every part of patient care and client communication, including:
- Hospital Operations: Opening and setting up the clinic, assisting in day-to-day tasks, and keeping a positive flow.
- Client Services: Answering phones, assisting with check-ins/check-outs, providing basic medical information, and delivering a warm, supportive experience.
- Patient Care:
- Assisting with exams and treatments
- Monitoring patient vital signs and condition changes
- Administering medications, collecting samples, and performing treatments
- Walking, feeding, and caring for hospitalized patients
- Surgical and Dental Assistance:
- Preparing for surgery using aseptic technique
- Monitoring anesthesia and recovery
- Dental radiographs, scaling, polishing, and dental charting
- Laboratory and Radiology Work:
- Running lab tests and maintaining equipment
- Positioning patients for radiographs and following radiation safety protocols
Essential Requirements:
- Maintain active veterinary technician certification, license, or registration.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education.
- Ensure strict confidentiality for clients and patients.
- Comfort working with controlled substances, contagious diseases, and occasionally stressed animals.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
- Occasional kneeling, crouching, and crawling
