Sr. Accountant

Maxar has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant in Westminster, CO. In this role, you will be a member of a highly collaborative team reporting to the Manager of Accounting. You will be responsible for, but not limited to, preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations and supporting the month end and quarter end close processes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Calculate, review and process journal entries for month end and quarter end close
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, including cash/bank reconciliations
• Analyze and research outstanding liabilities to create month end accruals
• Partner with business units to research and reconcile Intercompany transactions
• Provide analysis of operating results and financial position
• Build cross-functional relationships
• Work with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
• Collaborate with other business units and teams for ongoing process improvement efforts
• Special Project assignments - Support and or participate on special projects

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience with U.S. GAAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of SAP
• Experience with internal controls
• Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-oriented environment while also knowing when to ask questions to better understand the process / issue.
• Ability to work well in a team and with people in other functions and locations
• Excellent organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.
